Account Types

Funding Account

For deposits, withdrawals, and P2P trading. Crypto purchased via P2P goes here.

Spot Account

For trading. Funds must be here to buy/sell on the spot market.

Futures Account

For derivatives trading. Transfer funds here before opening positions.

Earn Account

For yield products.

Margin Account

For leveraged spot trading.

Why Multiple Accounts?

Risk isolation. A futures liquidation won't affect your spot or funding account assets. Each account's funds are independent.

Transferring Between Accounts

  1. Open Binance APP > Assets
  2. Tap "Transfer"
  3. Select source and destination accounts
  4. Choose coin and amount
  5. Confirm

Features: Instant, free, unlimited frequency.

Common Fund Flows

  • Bought crypto via P2P → Want to trade: Funding → Spot
  • Traded → Want to sell for cash: Spot → Funding → P2P sell
  • Want futures: Spot/Funding → Futures
  • Want to earn yield: Spot → Earn (often auto-deducted)

Checking Balances

The Assets page shows total portfolio value and each account's breakdown. Tap individual accounts for per-coin details.

Notes

  • Deposits default to the funding account
  • Withdrawals only work from the funding account
  • Transfer to the right account before trading
  • Futures funds with open positions can't be fully withdrawn
