The withdrawal whitelist is a critical security feature — only whitelisted addresses can receive withdrawals. sign up for Binance and download the Binance APP to enable it in Security Center.
What Is It?
Once enabled, you can only withdraw to pre-approved addresses. Even if someone compromises your account, they can't send funds to unauthorized addresses.
How to Enable
- Binance APP > Security Settings
- Find "Withdrawal Address Whitelist"
- Enable it
- Complete security verification
Adding Addresses
- Tap "Add Address"
- Select coin and network
- Enter address and a label (e.g., "My cold wallet")
- Complete security verification
Cooling Period
New addresses have a ~24-hour cooling period before they can receive funds — preventing hackers from adding their own address and immediately withdrawing.
Management
- Delete: Remove unneeded addresses anytime (requires verification)
- Modify: Not supported — delete and re-add instead
- Temporarily Disable: Possible but reduces security and has its own cooling period
Security Value
Prevents Theft
Even with all credentials compromised, attackers can't withdraw without a whitelisted address (new addresses have cooling periods).
Prevents Mistakes
Only verified addresses are available, reducing human error.
Buys Time
If you detect compromise, the cooling period gives you time to freeze the account.
Best Practices
- Add all frequently-used addresses
- Label each clearly
- Review the list periodically
- Don't frequently disable the feature
- Combine with Google Authenticator and fund passwords
The withdrawal whitelist is the single most valuable security feature Binance offers. Strongly recommended for all users.
